Adam received his B.A. from Drury University (Springfield, Mo.) in Criminology and Psychology, and then went on to the University of Missouri-Columbia for his Juris Doctorate.  He began his career with the Missouri State Public Defender’s Office and moved on to working at a small criminal defense firm in the private sector.  He now owns his own firm, the Law Office of Adam Woody, and has significant trial experience and practices as a criminal trial attorney at the local, state, and federal levels. 

Adam was awarded with the Springfield Business Journal’s 40 under 40 award for community and civic achievement in 2009, and is a 2011 graduate of Leadership Springfield.  Adam is also actively involved in the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association, serving as the Criminal Law Committee Chairperson in 2015, is a board member of the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and is a general member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.  He is also a general member of the National College for DUI Defense which is an invitation only organization consisting of members who have demonstrated outstanding skill and experience in the field of DUI defense.  He achieved board certification by the National Board of Legal Specialty Certification as a criminal trial attorney in 2013.

In 2011 Adam received the Up and Coming Attorneys Award from Missouri Lawyers Weekly and he has been awarded as a Top 100 Trial Lawyer by the National Trial Lawyers in 2013, 14, and 15.  He also received the designation as a Nation’s Top One Percent by the National Association of Distinguished Counsel, as well as being awarded as a Top Ten Criminal Defense Lawyer Under Forty in Missouri by the National Academy of Criminal Defense Lawyers, both in 2015.  He is a member of the Missouri Bar, the United States District Court for the Western and Eastern Districts of Missouri, and the United States Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit.
