Jess McCollum grew up in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Economics from Shepherd University. She then attended the Catholic University, Columbus School of Law, where she gained hands-on experience representing indigent clients in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia through the Families and the Law Clinic.

After graduating law school, Jess began her career at a general practice firm in Northern Virginia. While handling a wide range of cases, she quickly discovered her passion for criminal defense and committed herself to protecting the rights of those accused of crimes.

Inspired by both her professional drive and the arrival of her daughter, Jess established her own private practice, which her husband later joined. Together, they now focus on criminal defense and appellate work, representing clients across Northern Virginia in both misdemeanor and felony cases.

Outside the courtroom, Jess enjoys hiking, practicing yoga, and spending quality time with her family.
